The Battersea Power Station, Great Britain

The Battersea Power Station is a decommissioned coal-fired power station located on the south bank of the River Thames, in Nine Elms, Battersea, an inner-city district of South West London. At one time the largest building by area in Europe and with a generating capacity of 5GW, it was opened in stages between 1933 and 1975 and has been under redevelopment since 2008. It is one of the largest brick structures in the world.[1]

The former owner, a Malaysian government-owned fund called SP Setia Bhd., had planned to transform it into apartments but switched to luxury offices instead because prices have risen too high for residential units there.
